Barry Goldberg here. Hey, we have a disproportionate amount of wrongful death cases here at my office and one of the reasons we have them is we get great results. Now, who can file a wrongful death claim? Well, um in California, it’s very specific as to who is allowed to file a wrongful death claim and it follows what’s called intestate secession. So, um that means if um um you were to pass away, who would get your belongings and your property? So, if uh if you’re married, it’s going to be your husband or wife. Um if you have children, it’s going to be your husband, wife, and children. Um if you don’t have any husband or wife and no children, then you look, we look to the parents. So, we follow the statutes in California as to who can make a claim for wrongful death. And it’s very important in our office, we try and get all the claimants uh at once to make a claim so there’s no dispute as to who’s making the claim and what they’re entitled to.
