Two Teens Hit In Bicycle Accident
When a vehicle driver struck two teenage bicyclists on August 5th, 2022, one sustained serious injury and other sustained minor injury. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on a Friday afternoon, where two male bicyclists were riding down Promenade Drive when they were hit by the driver of a Chevrolet Bolt. One of the teens had become pinned underneath the electric hatchback, and was immediately transported to a hospital with severe injury. A witness reported having seen the emergency crew performing CPR on the unresponsive teen after pulling him out from under the vehicle.
The incident had closed Promenade Drive as sheriff vehicles, fire engines, and ambulance crews staged the scene beyond yellow police tape. One bicycle was found laying on its side on the road, and the other was leaning against bushes on the center median. The driver was a woman of 68 years who remained at the scene and was cooperative in the investigation. The accident blocked an entrance to the mall on East Ventura Boulevard, which is located on Highway 101 south in Camarillo.
