Head-On Collision Causes Death Of Two Drivers
Two drivers in Woodland Hills were killed in a terrible head-on collision August 29, 2022 at 11:30 p.m. According to a Los Angeles Police Department Valley traffic investigator, speed was a factor in the crash, in which the two vehicles were barely recognizable. It is suspected that the driver of the Chevy Malibu had crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Honda CRV. A witness said that the scene was chaotic, with more than one or two dozen firefighters working relentlessly on both cars, trying to get them out.
It is believed that the Chevy was headed east, and the Honda headed west, when the Chevy driver drifted into another lane for reasons that are unclear. The collision unfolded near Mason Avenue on Victory Boulevard, near the back entrance to Pierce College campus. The driver of the Honda was believed to be about 40 years old, and passed away after being ushered to the hospital. The driver of the Chevy was about 20-25 years old, and died at the scene of the accident.
The team at Barry P. Goldberg has been helping victims of accidents and their families for many years. We are aware of just how devastating accidents can be, and in many cases, it points to at least one person being mostly at-fault. Sometimes alcohol, fatigue, distraction, negligence, or recklessness is at the root of a serious collision. What our team can do is investigate and see what factors caused the incident to occur. We may be able to gather proof that would have otherwise not been found, that can help our client receive the most compensation possible. Victims of personal injury accidents, like car accidents, may be due financial restitution for their injuries, losses, and other damages.
If someone were to pass away in an accident that was another’s fault, the surviving family of the victim can come forward with a wrongful death lawsuit. The family would have to prove that the other party owed a duty of care to their loved one, that the offender breached this duty, and a loss of life resulted. Other personal injury accidents we have represented in the past include dog bites, slip and fall accidents, civil litigation, insurance law, bicycle accidents, hit and run accidents, motorcycle accidents, uninsured/underinsured driver accidents, and more.
In the aftermath of a serious accident, there are steps that must be taken to protect the victim’s rights, and so we advise contacting us as quickly as possible to help you with your claim. When someone is injured or killed in an accident, it can leave families wondering who is responsible. It may seem obvious that the other driver is at-fault, but in fact more than just one party could have contributed to it happening. While other law firms prioritize securing settlements from the insurance company of the at-fault driver, we focus on uncovering all the responsible people or companies that could be liable. In this way, an auto accident lawyer Woodland Hills CA residents trust can help victims optimize their financial recovery.
